140th Anniversary Mohair Elephant

At first glance, it may appear that this distinguished little elephant is made from the type of nubby wool used on many Steiff animals from long ago. In reality, this effect was achieved by creating a specially milled curly mohair with a nostalgic appearance. In keeping with Margarete’s color palette for her original elephant’s saddle, the gray elephant wears a blue velvety saddle trimmed with elaborate yellow-gold braiding and woolen pompoms.
