Margarete Steiff Edition (MSE)

Teddy bear Lucio and his little garden friend the great tit, whisk you away into an enchanting winter wonderland. Following Antonio from 2023, Lucio is Margarete Steiff Edition No. 18 and the second bear whose heart beat plays a piece from Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons." Over the next two years, two more "Vivaldi" Teddy bears will complete the Four Seasons series. Limited to only 188 numbered pieces, Lucio is indeed a coveted collector's item.

The Margarete Steiff Edition can only be ordered exclusively as a Steiff Club member.

*Notes on the ordering process*

The right of first offer for Club members starts on 1 August 2024. Orders will be taken via your local Steiff Club retailer or by e-mail directly to info@steiff-club.com. You can order your own Margarete Steiff Edition under item number 421785 for EUR 2,000.00 (CHF 2,000.00/ £ 1,800.00). Delivery will take place from mid-January 2025 at the latest. The order form will no longer apply from this year and the items will be allocated according to receipt of the order (first come - first serve, no raffle!). Lucio's name means "light". His paw pads are covered with a Starlight glitter fabric, creating a particularly beautiful shimmering effect. Lucio gazes at us with deep and open eyes made of handcrafted black wood. A particularly charming feature of the bear's friendly face is his nose, interwoven with fine silver threads that sparkle with a wintry glow. The pearly cotton thread used to stitch his mouth is placed perfectly by our expert seamstress, stitch by stitch. Wrapped in thick, soft mohair, Lucio and his friend defy the winter and feel perfectly cozy during the cold season.

As an exclusive Margarete Steiff Edition, both the great tit and Lucio, like his predecessors, bear the unmistakable features that distinguish them as prized originals. The elegant silver "button in ear" of the Margarete Steiff Edition securely fastens the exquisite jacquard woven label to both the little bird and the Teddy bear, with each piece individually numbered.

Lucio is equipped with a meticulously integrated music box that plays "L'inverno" (Winter), the fourth concerto from Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons", providing the perfect auditory experience. Lucio's predecessor, Antonio, from the Margarete Steiff Edition 2023, also featured a piece from "The Four Seasons" with "Spring". Together, Lucio and Antonio form the first half of the four-part "Vivaldi Four Seasons Series". The Margarete Steiff Edition 2025 will feature Vivaldi's "Summer", and in 2026, "Autumn" will follow. This musical series is sure to make collectors' hearts beat faster and increase anticipation for the upcoming Margarete Steiff Editions.
